[ What you should know ] [ You might be ready if... ] [ Interviewing a Professional Organizer ]

Messy Bulletin BoardProfessional Organizers are "personal trainers" for keeping you on TRACK as you get your home or office in shape. They assist individuals and companies in regaining control over their time, space, and stuff.  (Be aware that most organizers do not do cleaning or clerical work: If either of these is your primary need, you'll be better off hiring a cleaning service or a secretary.)

Not all organizers offer the same services, approach, personality or have the same training. Martha Goss specializes in working with Chronically Disorganized folks. Here is a list of trainings and Certificate of Study that Martha Goss has earned.

  • Certificate of Study in Chronic Disorganization through the Institute of Challenging Disorganization. Courses included Basic Chronic Disorganization, Introduction of Hoarding, Transistions vs. Changes, as well as other courses needed for this certificate.
  • Member of the National Association of Professional Organizers since 2006. Courses have included Fundamental Organizing Principles, Chronic Disorganization: Understanding Emotional Challenges with the CD Client, and many other courses over the years.
  • Business Administration degree from Kent State University (1986 graduate)

Woman with GroceriesInterviewing a Professional Organizer

Before you start calling organizers take a moment to reflect on where you are feeling most disorganized and how you would like your life to be after you get organized.  The organizers that you interview will need this information to make sure that they can provide the services you need. We have provided a couple of simple questionaires that will assist an organizer in determining your needs and if they can help you. This questionnaire will assist you in determining your needs and will be very beneficial to your potential Professional Organizer. (Both questionnaires are available in a PDF format for you to download and print.)

If you are sensing that life could be simpler this is probably an indicator that you are ready to partner with a professional organizer.

You can do it!

Regain control of your time, space, and stuff and have more time in your life to enjoy the life you have. In the end, you’ll move from chaos to calm.
